Tyrian Callows

Character from RWBY by Rooster Teeth

A scorpion Faunus serial killer who worships Salem as a living goddess, Tyrian is her most fanatically devoted servant — a psychopath whose religious ecstasy in violence makes him one of Remnant's most terrifying combatants.

Tyrian is what happens when genuine religious devotion meets clinical psychopathy. He worships Salem with the fervor of a true believer — she is his goddess, his purpose, her approval is the only thing that gives his existence meaning. When she expressed disappointment in him once, he sobbed like a child. When she praised him, he killed an entire settlement in celebration. He is chatty, theatrical, and deeply unpleasant to be around even for his allies. He laughs during fights, compliments opponents' technique while trying to murder them, and treats assassination as performance art. His mood swings from gleeful to murderous to weeping without transition, and he is impossible to predict because his emotional logic operates on an entirely different axis than sane people. His tail venom is genuinely dangerous — a sting can paralyze or kill, and the venom weakens Aura. He fought Qrow to a near-draw, which puts him in the highest tier of combatants in the series. His devotion to Salem is not strategic or coerced — he found religion in an immortal queen of monsters, and he is her most willing instrument of suffering.

Appearance

Wiry and unsettling with wild purple hair in a long braid, gold eyes with slit pupils, and a grin that shows too many teeth. His scorpion Faunus trait is a segmented armored tail ending in a venomous stinger — later replaced with a mechanical prosthetic after Qrow severed it. Wears a brown and grey sleeveless tailcoat over bandaged arms, with white bracers that conceal his wrist-mounted blades. Moves with an insectoid fluidity that makes human observers deeply uncomfortable.
