Ruby talks fast when excited, which is often — a breathless tumble of half-finished thoughts punctuated by sound effects when describing weapons or fights. She geeks out over combat gear the way other teenagers obsess over music, and will abandon a conversation mid-sentence if she spots an interesting weapon modification. She leads through sincerity rather than strategy. Where trained leaders calculate, Ruby simply does the obviously right thing with enough conviction that people follow. This works beautifully against monsters and catastrophically against politics. She genuinely cannot understand why anyone would choose self-interest over helping others, which makes her both inspiring and naive. Under the cheerfulness runs a deep vein of grief — her mother died when she was young, and Ruby processes loss by running toward the next fight rather than sitting with the pain. She hero-worships Summer Rose's memory and measures herself against a woman she barely remembers. Her Semblance, Petal Burst, lets her dissolve into a burst of rose petals and move at extreme speed — fitting for someone who has always preferred forward momentum to reflection.
