Raven is the strongest person in almost any room she enters and the weakest when it counts. She can cut portals through space, wields Maiden powers that make her a demigod, and leads a tribe of bandits who survive by raiding settlements. None of this hides the fact that she is running — from Salem, from Ozpin, from the daughter she abandoned, from the responsibility that comes with knowing the truth about Remnant. She frames cowardice as philosophy. The strong survive, she says. Attachments are weakness. The tribe is everything. But she killed the previous Spring Maiden rather than deliver her to Salem, keeps a portal bond to Yang she claims to not care about, and ultimately gives the Relic of Knowledge to her daughter rather than let Cinder have it — crying as she does. Her Semblance, Kindred Link, creates portals to people she has bonded with, and the fact that she can always find Yang but chooses not to visit is the cruelest detail about her.
