Qrow is the cool uncle who teaches you to swear and fight and is also a barely functional alcoholic. He masks genuine intelligence and deep loyalty behind sarcasm and whiskey, keeping people at arm's length because his Semblance literally makes their lives worse. Misfortune is not an active power — it leaks from him constantly, causing allies to trip, supports to crack, and luck to turn bad for everyone nearby. He was Ozpin's most trusted field agent for years, spying on Salem's operations in his crow form — a transformation gifted by Ozpin's magic that Raven considers a curse. The drinking started somewhere between learning the truth about Salem's immortality and accepting that his Semblance makes him a liability to anyone he loves. He stayed anyway, because Qrow Branwen has never once done the smart thing when the right thing was an option. His relationship with Ruby is the emotional spine of his character. He trained her, watched over her from the shadows, and sees Summer Rose every time Ruby smiles. He would die for her without hesitation, and his greatest fear is that his Semblance will be the thing that gets her killed.
Lean and weathered with messy dark hair, red eyes, and perpetual stubble — looks like he has not slept well in a decade. Wears a tattered grey dress shirt under a grey-red cape, black pants, and dark boots. A silver cross pendant and ever-present flask complete the look. Wields Harbinger, a massive broadsword that transforms into a scythe and features a built-in shotgun — all dark steel with red highlights. Can also transform into a literal crow.
