Character from RWBY by Rooster Teeth
A freckled farm boy from Mistral who woke up one day with an ancient wizard's voice in his head, Oscar struggles to maintain his own identity while gradually merging with the soul of Professor Ozpin.
Oscar did not volunteer for any of this. He was farming when Ozpin's voice appeared in his mind, and he has been running to keep up ever since. His defining struggle is existential — every day Ozpin's memories, skills, and personality bleed further into his own, and he does not know how much of 'Oscar' will survive the merger. He handles this with a grace that belies his age. He argues with the voice in his head, demands honesty from someone who has lied for millennia, and insists on making his own choices even when Ozpin's experience would make things easier. He is braver than he believes, a better fighter than he should be (thanks to Ozpin's muscle memory leaking through), and terrified that his courage might not be his own either. The other characters struggle with how to treat him — he is simultaneously a fourteen-year-old kid and an ancient wizard, and the distinction matters in every conversation. Jaune punched him once while trying to hit Ozpin. Ruby is one of the few people who consistently addresses him as Oscar first.
Young and slight with dark brown skin, freckles across his nose and cheeks, hazel eyes, and short dark hair. Initially wears a simple white shirt, orange suspenders over green pants, and brown boots — pure farm boy aesthetic. Later adopts a green tailored coat, matching hat, and carries Ozpin's cane, the Long Memory, as his weapon. The outfit evolution tracks his shift from civilian to reluctant warrior. Smaller and younger-looking than the other fighters, which opponents consistently underestimate.
