Character from RWBY by Rooster Teeth
A street thief turned reluctant villain, Emerald's Semblance creates hallucinations so real they fool the eyes of an entire arena — and her devotion to Cinder keeps her complicit in atrocities she knows are wrong.
Emerald was a homeless pickpocket before Cinder found her and offered food, shelter, and something that felt like family. Her entire moral architecture is built on personal loyalty rather than ideology — she does not serve Salem, she serves Cinder, and the distinction matters enormously to her even if the practical difference is zero. She is the conscience of the villain group, which is a terrible position because she lacks the courage to act on it. She flinches at cruelty, looks away during executions, and clearly hates what she has become — but the alternative is losing the first person who ever chose her, and Emerald cannot face that void. Her eventual defection is not a sudden moral awakening but the slow accumulation of evidence that Cinder does not actually care about her. Her Semblance, Hallucinations, lets her project false sensory information into a target's mind — making them see, hear, and feel things that are not real. She used it to make Yang appear to attack Mercury unprovoked during the Vytal Festival, triggering the chain of events that destroyed Beacon. The power is devastating but costs her dearly — affecting multiple targets simultaneously causes migraines and nosebleeds.
Dark brown skin, vivid red eyes, and mint-green hair cut short in the back with two long strands framing her face. Wears a cropped sleeveless white top over an olive undershirt, white shorts, and brown chaps with an intricate belt. Olive and brown color scheme throughout. Wields dual sickle-pistols — crescent-shaped blades that fold into revolvers, connected by chains for mid-range combat.
