Character from RWBY by Rooster Teeth
Skeletal humanoid Grimm that drain the will to live — the most psychologically terrifying species, killing not through violence but through hopelessness.
The Apathy don't roar or charge or attack in any conventional sense. They shuffle. Emaciated, skeletal humanoids with elongated limbs, hollow eye sockets in smooth bone masks, and gaping mouths that emit a low, whispering scream — a sound that burrows into the mind and siphons away motivation, hope, and the basic survival instinct to run. Victims simply stop caring. They sit down. They give up. They let the Grimm walk over them. They move in herds through underground spaces — caves, basements, old tunnels — and their effect is cumulative. One Apathy makes you tired. A dozen makes you wonder why you bothered getting up today. A herd makes death feel like a reasonable alternative to effort. Ruby's group encountered a herd in a basement in Argus, and within minutes the entire team was ready to lie down and die. Only Maria's knowledge of silver eyes saved them. The Apathy are proof that the Grimm don't need claws to destroy humanity — they just need to make people stop trying.
Skeletal humanoid Grimm, gaunt and emaciated with elongated limbs and sunken features. Pale grey-white skin stretched over visible ribs and joints, with hollow black eye sockets that emit a faint ghostly glow. No bone armor — just naked, wasted forms that shamble in hordes. Their mouths open impossibly wide to emit a psychic shriek that drains willpower, motivation, and the will to live from anyone who hears it. Individually weak; terrifying en masse.
