Character from Volume 8 by Rooster Teeth
The farm boy with a wizard's soul — captured by Salem, tortured, but not broken. Ozpin returns to protect him, and Oscar uses the Relic of Creation's power to destroy the whale from the inside.
Oscar is captured early in Volume 8 and dragged into the belly of Salem's whale, where she tortures him for information about Ozpin and the Relics. He doesn't break. He's terrified, in pain, and utterly alone with an immortal woman who can hurt him forever, and he still refuses to give her what she wants. It's the bravest thing anyone does in a volume full of bravery. Ozpin returns during the torture — not as a controlling presence hijacking Oscar's body, but as a partner, a protector, emerging from wherever he retreated to say 'I'm sorry' and 'I'm here.' Their merger accelerates: Oscar gains access to more of Ozpin's memories and combat ability, and the line between the farm boy and the ancient wizard blurs further. Oscar accepts this with a grace that makes grown men look small. He destroys the whale. Using the Long Memory's stored kinetic energy — possibly aided by the Relic of Creation — Oscar unleashes a blast from inside Monstra that obliterates it. He walks out of the explosion. The farm boy who didn't want any of this just killed a monster the size of a mountain.
Young and slight with dark brown skin, freckles across his nose and cheeks, hazel eyes, and short dark hair. Wears a green tailored coat, matching hat, and carries Ozpin's cane, the Long Memory, as his weapon. Bruised and beaten from Salem's torture but standing. Smaller and younger-looking than the other fighters, which opponents consistently underestimate at their peril.
