Tyrian Callows

Character from Volume 7 by Rooster Teeth

Salem's devoted psychopath — a scorpion Faunus assassin sent to Mantle to murder political targets, terrorize the population, and ultimately kill Clover Ebi while framing Qrow for the crime.

Tyrian worships Salem with the fervour of a zealot, and she sends him to Atlas as her scalpel. While Watts works the systems, Tyrian works the streets — assassinating political figures, murdering civilians, and leaving bodies staged to look like the work of the heroes. He is genuinely terrifying. Not because of his combat skill — though that is considerable — but because of his absolute joy in killing. He giggles during fights. He compliments his victims. He treats murder as worship, each kill an offering to his goddess. His defining act in Volume 7 is killing Clover Ebi during a three-way fight with Qrow. Tyrian exploits the chaos deliberately — using Harbinger, Qrow's weapon, to land the killing blow so that Qrow is framed for the murder. It is surgical cruelty disguised as opportunism. His mechanical tail, rebuilt after Ruby severed the original, injects a venom that weakens Aura and causes paralysis. Between the venom, the wrist blades, and the religious ecstasy, fighting Tyrian feels less like combat and more like being hunted by something that enjoys the chase.

Appearance

Lean and unsettling with a gaunt face, wild gold eyes with slit pupils, and unkempt brown hair pulled back into a braid. A scorpion tail curls from his lower back — the original was severed by Ruby and replaced with a mechanical prosthetic dripping venom. Wears a brown and grey leather outfit with wrist-mounted blades. His body language oscillates between theatrical deference and explosive violence.
