Character from Volume 7 by Rooster Teeth
The team's quietest member is fracturing under pressure — Ren's Semblance evolves to sense emotions, but the new awareness overwhelms him and drives a wedge between him and the people he loves most.
Ren's Semblance has evolved. Where Tranquility once masked emotions from Grimm, it can now sense and read the emotions of those around him — and the upgrade is destroying him. He can feel Nora's neediness, Jaune's lingering grief, the team's collective fear. He processes it all internally because that's what Ren does, and it is breaking him. He starts pushing people away. His quiet composure, once a strength, becomes a wall. He snaps at Nora. He questions the team's decisions. He follows Ironwood's orders with a rigidity that worries his friends — because Ironwood offers certainty, and certainty is what Ren desperately needs when his own emotions are a mess he cannot sort. The relationship with Nora strains to its breaking point. She wants to talk about feelings. He wants to not have feelings, or at least not feel everyone else's. The irony of an empath who cannot handle empathy is not lost on the audience.
Lean and composed with long black hair featuring a magenta streak, though the composure is thinner now. Calm magenta eyes that betray more stress than they used to. Wears a dark green tailcoat with magenta trim over a white shirt, white pants, and black shoes. Pink lotus flower emblem. Wields StormFlower, dual automatic pistols with curved blades.
