Character from Volume 7 by Rooster Teeth
The farm boy with a wizard in his head is growing into his own person — Oscar fights for independence from Ozpin's merging consciousness while enduring capture and torture by Salem's forces.
Oscar is caught between two identities and running out of time before they merge. Ozpin is returning to consciousness — slowly, guilt-ridden, but inevitably — and every day Oscar can feel the boundaries between them blurring. He fights it by asserting himself: making independent decisions, speaking up in strategy meetings, insisting on being treated as Oscar rather than Ozpin's vessel. In Atlas he proves his courage definitively. Captured by Salem's agents and beaten for information, Oscar refuses to break. He escapes through his own resourcefulness, not Ozpin's power, and the experience hardens him in ways that concern his friends. He carries the Long Memory, Ozpin's cane, and is becoming genuinely skilled with it. The question hanging over Oscar is not whether he'll be useful — he already is — but whether Oscar Pine will still exist in a year.
A freckled teenager with dark skin, hazel eyes, and messy dark hair. Has grown taller since Mistral. Wears a green buttoned shirt over a white undershirt, brown suspenders, dark pants, and boots. Carries Ozpin's cane, the Long Memory, which he's learning to wield as a combat weapon.
