Yang Xiao Long

Character from Volume 6 by Rooster Teeth

The brawler who carries the Relic and the anger. Yang is furious about Ozpin's lies, protective of Blake, and heading toward the man who took her arm — with a mechanical fist clenched tight.

Yang is angry, and she has earned every degree of it. Her mother gave up the Relic of Knowledge and cried while doing it — the mighty Raven Branwen, undone by the thing she spent her life running from. Then Ozpin's lies came pouring out, and Yang learned that the man her mother served, the man her uncle drinks himself to sleep over, has been sending people to die in a war against an unkillable enemy for longer than civilizations have lasted. Her mother knew. They all knew. She carries the Relic on her belt because someone has to, and Yang has never been the kind of person who lets someone else carry the weight. The golden lamp swings when she walks and attracts Grimm just by existing. She doesn't complain about it. Her relationship with Blake has become the steady center of a life full of broken trust. Blake came back. That matters more than Yang can say. When Adam appears at Argus — and he does — Yang fights beside Blake without hesitation. Her prosthetic arm hits harder than her real one ever did. Her Semblance, Burn, absorbs kinetic energy from hits and converts it into exponentially greater striking power. She's learned to dodge instead of tank, but some fights are worth taking the hit.
