Emerald Sustrai

Character from Volume 5 by Rooster Teeth

Cinder's loyal thief — Emerald fought at Haven out of devotion to Cinder and was shattered when her master fell into the vault. Her grief manifested as a hallucination of Salem powerful enough to scatter an entire room.

Emerald follows Cinder not out of ideology but out of desperate, personal loyalty. Cinder saved her from the streets, gave her a purpose, and Emerald would burn the world to keep her safe. Salem's agenda is irrelevant to her — she's here because Cinder is here. At Haven, Emerald fights alongside Mercury and Hazel, using her Semblance — Hallucination — to create false sensory experiences in her targets' minds. She can make one person see something that isn't there, or with extreme effort, affect an entire room. When Cinder falls in the vault and doesn't come back, Emerald breaks. Her grief and rage trigger the most powerful hallucination she's ever produced — a massive projection of Salem's face that fills the chamber and sends everyone scrambling. The loss of Cinder leaves Emerald unmoored. She doesn't believe in Salem's cause. She believed in Cinder. Without that anchor, she's a weapon without a target.
