Location from Volume 4 by Rooster Teeth
Salem's domain — a wasteland of purple skies, Grimm spawning pools, and crystallized destruction, shown for the first time as the seat of the enemy's power.
The Land of Darkness is where the Grimm come from, and it looks exactly as terrible as that implies. A blasted wasteland under permanently purple-red skies, the terrain is jagged black rock broken by pools of dark liquid from which Grimm literally emerge — clawing their way out of the ooze, fully formed and hungry. Bone-like structures and crystallized formations jut from the ground like the skeleton of a dead world. Salem's fortress sits at the center, a massive structure of Grimm bone and dark crystal. Inside, she holds court at a long table with her agents — Cinder, Tyrian, Hazel, Watts — discussing their plans with the calm of a board meeting. Grimm move through this landscape like wildlife, ignoring Salem entirely. She is their queen, or perhaps their source, or perhaps something worse. This place was shown for the first time when Salem's existence was revealed, and it reframes every threat the heroes have faced. Everything that has happened — Roman, the White Fang, the Fall of Beacon — traces back to this table and the woman who sits at its head.
A hellish wasteland of jagged black rock beneath a permanently purple-red sky, dotted with dark pools of viscous liquid from which Grimm creatures emerge fully formed. Bone-white crystalline formations spike from the terrain. Salem's fortress is a massive structure of dark crystal and Grimm bone with a long conference table where she meets with her agents. No vegetation, no water, no life except Grimm — it is the antithesis of everything the kingdoms represent.
