Weiss came home to Atlas after Beacon fell and immediately remembered why she left. Jacques Schnee has reclaimed his daughter like a misplaced asset, parading her at galas, leveraging the Fall of Beacon for SDC profit, and expecting the obedient heiress he sent away. Weiss is not that person anymore, and the collision between who her father wants her to be and who Beacon made her is the defining tension of her Volume 4 arc. At a charity concert, Weiss performs beautifully and then watches a socialite mock the Fall of Beacon to her face. She accidentally summons a Boarbatusk — her Semblance manifesting a Grimm she defeated at Beacon, the most advanced Glyph technique suddenly erupting from rage she can't control. Jacques disinherits her, strips her title, and gives the heiress position to her brother Whitley. Weiss begins planning her escape from Atlas. Her Semblance is evolving. The Glyphs she has relied on — platforms, acceleration, elemental channels — are giving way to something more powerful: summoning. She can now conjure spectral copies of enemies she has defeated, manifesting them as ghostly white combatants. It's the hereditary Schnee ability at its most advanced, and Weiss is only beginning to understand what it means.
