Mountain Glenn

Location from Volume 3 by Rooster Teeth

A ruined expansion of Vale overrun by Grimm — the site of Volume 2's climactic mission, now referenced as the origin of the Breach that shook public confidence.

Mountain Glenn is where Cinder's plan first became visible. The White Fang used the underground tunnels to breach Vale's defenses in Volume 2, sending Grimm pouring into the city streets. Team RWBY stopped the worst of it, but the damage to public confidence was done. The Breach proved that Vale's walls weren't impenetrable, that the White Fang had military-scale ambitions, and that the Grimm could reach the city. That fear — the memory of the Breach, the knowledge that it could happen again — is part of what Cinder is exploiting. The Vytal Festival is supposed to be a show of strength and unity. But Mountain Glenn proved it's a show built on cracked foundations.

Appearance

An abandoned urban expansion southeast of Vale, reclaimed by nature and infested with Grimm. The aboveground ruins are skeletal buildings overgrown with vegetation. Underground, a buried city of tunnels and collapsed metro lines leads all the way to the walls of Vale — the route the White Fang used to breach the city's defenses.
