Nevermores are territorial aerial predators that soar at extreme altitude before diving with shrieks that shake windows and launching volleys of razor-edged feathers that pin targets to the ground. Fighting one without a plan for vertical combat is suicide. Teams RWBY and JNPR brought one down during initiation — a feat of coordinated teamwork that Ozpin watched with quiet satisfaction.

Appearance

A massive avian Grimm resembling a nightmarish raven, wingspan reaching fifty feet or more. Jet-black plumage with a bone-white skull mask, glowing red eyes, and red markings along its face. Bone armor plates along its wings and back, razor-sharp feathers it launches as projectiles. Talons large enough to carry a person.
