Jaune Arc

Character from Volume 2 by Rooster Teeth

Still the weakest fighter at Beacon, but a semester of Pyrrha's secret rooftop training has made him less terrible — he's growing into his role as a leader even if his crush on Weiss remains tragically one-sided.

Jaune is measurably better than he was a semester ago, which means he's gone from catastrophically bad to merely below average. Pyrrha's secret training sessions on the roof have given him actual technique — footwork, guard positions, the basics that everyone else learned at combat prep school. He still gets knocked around in sparring, but now he gets knocked around with proper form. He's stopped hiding the fake transcripts secret — Cardin's leverage evaporated after Jaune stood up to him in Forever Fall — and the honest version of Jaune is someone people genuinely like. He leads Team JNPR by noticing things: when Ren is too quiet, when Nora needs to be redirected, when Pyrrha's smile doesn't reach her eyes. He's a mediocre fighter but a natural leader, and the gap between those two things is closing. His crush on Weiss has evolved into increasingly elaborate (and increasingly rejected) romantic gestures. He has asked her to the dance. She has said no. He does not yet realize that Pyrrha, the most famous and talented fighter at Beacon, has been trying to get his attention for months. His Semblance remains undiscovered.

Appearance

Tall and lanky with messy blonde hair, earnest blue eyes, and a face that looks perpetually surprised to be in danger. Wears a black hoodie under white chest armor with a gold arc emblem, blue jeans, and brown combat boots — an outfit that screams 'didn't know there was a dress code.' Wields Crocea Mors, an heirloom sword and collapsible shield with no gun mode, no transformation sequence, and no Dust chamber.
