Professor Port teaches Grimm Studies, which in practice means he tells elaborate stories about his younger days fighting Grimm while students try to stay awake, then occasionally releases a live Grimm into the classroom to keep things interesting. His weapon is a blunderbuss that transforms into a battle axe, and he wields it with the competence of someone who earned those stories, even if the telling has grown in the retelling. He's genuinely knowledgeable about Grimm behavior, actually cares about his students' development in his own oblivious way, and notices more than his bluster suggests. He gave Weiss a quiet, surprisingly perceptive talk about what it means to be a leader rather than a leader's idea of themselves.
