Location from Resident Evil 4 by Capcom
Mendez's imposing residence on the village outskirts — part home, part command center, and the site of Leon's first brush with the Chief's superhuman strength.
The Chief's house is where the game first shows you real danger. Mendez ambushes Leon here, grabbing him by the throat with one hand and demonstrating strength that no normal human possesses. The house serves as both exposition dump (documents about the Plaga, about Ashley's captivity) and horror set-piece. It's the first place where you realize the village chief isn't just a cult leader — he's something else entirely. The house smells like old wood and something chemical. Religious texts are mixed with research notes. There are no personal effects — no family photos, no comforts. Mendez has fully given himself to Los Iluminados.
A large two-story stone house, more substantial than the other village buildings. Heavy wooden doors, shuttered windows, and a dim interior filled with religious iconography and Iluminados paraphernalia. A locked cabinet contains documents. The atmosphere is oppressive — Mendez's presence lingers even when he's not there.
