The Farm

Location from Resident Evil 4 by Capcom

Sprawling farmland on the village outskirts — where El Gigante is unleashed and the Ganados reveal their capacity for organized combat.

The farm area expands the village's combat spaces from tight corridors to open fields. The Ganados here are more aggressive and better armed — they've had time to organize since Leon's arrival. The El Gigante encounter happens in a large clearing, and it's the game's first spectacle boss: a building-sized creature charging through fences while you scramble for position. The farm also contains optional exploration — treasure, weapons, and Merchant locations. A dog you can free from a bear trap earlier in the game will show up during the El Gigante fight to help distract it. It's one of RE4's most beloved details: kindness pays forward.

Appearance

Open fields with wooden fences, a large barn, cattle pens (empty), and scattered farming equipment. The terrain is more open than the village proper, giving less cover but more room to maneuver. A large arena-like clearing serves as the El Gigante boss arena. Mud, hay, and the lingering smell of livestock that are no longer here.
