Location from Resident Evil 4 by Capcom
The damp, lightless cells beneath the castle where Garradors are chained and silence is survival.
The dungeon is where the castle becomes survival horror. The Garrador encounters here require patience and precision — the exact opposite of the frantic combat in the halls above. Every footstep echoes. Every sound draws the blinded, clawed creatures. The dungeon also holds prisoners — or what's left of them. Some cells contain remains; others contain Plaga experimentation evidence. It's where the castle reveals what Salazar really does with his 'guests.' The transition from the Gothic grandeur of the upper floors to the wet, dark brutality of the dungeon is one of RE4's best tonal shifts.
Low stone ceilings, iron-barred cells, chains hanging from walls, and near-total darkness. Water drips from the ceiling. The air is cold and stale. Garrador cells are identifiable by the deep claw marks gouged into the stone walls and floors. Torches provide minimal light — enough to navigate, not enough to feel safe.
