A damp cave system in the village outskirts — where early Ganado ambushes teach you that darkness is never empty.
The cave sections in the early game serve as tutorial spaces for RE4's claustrophobic combat. Tight corridors limit your movement options while Ganados attack from ahead and behind. The darkness hides enemies until they're close, and the echo makes it hard to gauge how many are coming. They're also transitional spaces — connecting different parts of the village area, giving the player a sense of the region's underground network that will become more significant when the mines and castle dungeons are reached later.
Narrow natural cave passages with dripping water, uneven footing, and minimal light. Torches and makeshift wooden supports indicate the Ganados use these caves regularly. The walls are wet limestone, narrowing in places to single-file passages. Sounds echo unpredictably.
