Character from Resident Evil 4 by Capcom
Salazar's insectoid bodyguard — a Plaga mutation pushed to its absolute limit, fast and nearly invulnerable.
The Verdugo is what happens when Las Plagas completely overwrites the host. There's nothing human left — no voice, no hesitation, just predatory efficiency. It hunts Leon through the castle's underground corridors in a sequence that shifts the game from action into survival horror. You can't kill it easily — you have to freeze it with liquid nitrogen and then unload everything you have. Salazar keeps two Verdugos as bodyguards, flanking him constantly. They're the castle section's statement of intent: the Plaga doesn't just control people, it can rebuild them into something else entirely.
A tall, sleek, jet-black creature with an exoskeletal body that reads as part insect, part xenomorph. Long segmented tail, razor-sharp appendages, and a featureless head with mandible-like protrusions. It wears tattered remnants of a red or black robe from its time as one of Salazar's human servants. Its movements are inhumanly fast — it crawls on walls and ceilings as easily as it walks.
