Jack Krauser

Character from Resident Evil 4 by Capcom

Leon's former military partner — reported dead, now working for Saddler with a mutated arm-blade and a betrayal that cuts deeper than any weapon.

Krauser is the dark mirror of what Leon could have become. Both survived extreme bioweapon encounters. Both were shaped by their governments. But where Leon held onto his humanity, Krauser concluded that human limitations are the real enemy — and sought power through the Plaga. He fights like a soldier, not a monster. His knife combat against Leon is personal, precise, and brutal — the choreography of two men who trained together and know each other's tells. He respects Leon's skill even as he tries to kill him. Their confrontation in the ruins is the game's most intimate fight: no giant monsters, no spectacle, just two men and their knives. In the remake, his backstory is expanded: he was Leon's partner on a mission in South America (Operation Javier) that went wrong. He was injured, abandoned by the government, and recruited by Wesker. His bitterness toward Leon isn't jealousy — it's that Leon still believes in a system that discarded Krauser the moment he was damaged.

Appearance

Military-built with a scarred, angular face and a red beret. Wears tactical combat gear — stripped-down, functional, no wasted material. His left arm can mutate into a massive blade-like Plaga appendage, organic and segmented like an insect wing turned weapon. His face carries the intensity of someone who chose this path and doesn't regret it. In the remake, his design is more grounded — combat scars, a practical vest, the mutated arm more viscerally biological.
