Character from Resident Evil 4 by Capcom
The chainsaw Ganado — a burlap-masked maniac whose revving engine is the sound of pure dread in every RE4 player's memory.
Dr. Salvador is technically a mini-boss, but he's the most iconic rank-and-file enemy in the game. The distant sound of a chainsaw revving is the audio cue that RE4 players dread more than any other. He appears in the village siege — the game's opening combat gauntlet — and teaches you immediately that this game will kill you fast if you're not careful. He doesn't speak. He doesn't strategize. He just advances, chainsaw first, and if he reaches you, it's an instant-death decapitation. Multiple Dr. Salvador variants appear throughout the game, each more aggressive. The name is sardonic — he's a 'doctor' the way a butcher is a surgeon.
A stocky Ganado in dirty overalls and a burlap sack over his head, wielding a running chainsaw. He's hunched, relentless, and faster than he looks. The chainsaw is industrial-sized, caked in rust and worse. In the remake, his movements are more animalistic — jerky head tilts, sudden sprints, the saw held overhead like a religious offering.
