Natural Selection is the ship that proves Zhang Beihai right. She is meant to be the flagship of an Asian Fleet that does not yet exist; in the chaos of the Doomsday Battle she becomes Beihai's getaway car. Her destruction in the Battle of Darkness is humanity's first major loss after the Doomsday Battle, and the moment her crew realizes what the Solar Fleet has actually become.
Identical externally to Blue Space — a 1,500-meter fusion-driven warship of the Asian Fleet — though her bridge fittings and crew quarters carry the sharper, more austere style preferred by Dongfang Yanxu. Long matte-gray hull, the ring antenna, the same magnetic deck plating.
