The colonization armada — 1,000-plus warships at sub-relativistic acceleration, four hundred years from Earth at launch — that the Trisolarans dispatched after Ye Wenjie's reply, and which became, after the destruction of their homeworld, the species' last seedship convoy.
The Fleet is the looming clock at the back of the Crisis Era — four centuries of acceleration, decelerating in the final years to combat-ready velocity. After Trisolaris dies, the Fleet becomes the species' refugee convoy as much as its army. Yun Tianming lives among them as captive ambassador. After the Deterrence Era ends, it is from this Fleet that the Droplets sortie to destroy the gravitational antennae.
A fleet of teardrop-shaped capital ships, larger cousins of the Droplet design, accompanied by service craft and the unmanned Droplet vanguard. Visible from Earth telescopes only as a small smear of slowed-light wake. The Second Fleet, dispatched later, is faster and harder to track.
