Princess Beatrice

Character from Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

Henry's older sister and closest family ally — warm, perceptive, and one of the few people in the royal family who tells Henry what she actually thinks.

Bea is the person Henry calls when he's not okay. She has been that person for most of their lives — the one who sat with him after their father died, who noticed when he was performing fine rather than being it. She carries her public role more lightly than Henry. Whether this is disposition or privilege — she's first in line, the pressure is different, more defined — is an open question she doesn't spend much time on. She's pragmatic and funny and has decided that warmth is not incompatible with dignity, regardless of what the palace communications office thinks. She likes Alex immediately, in the way she likes anyone who makes Henry laugh for real.

Appearance

Fair-skinned with light brown hair, closer to her father's coloring than Henry's. Carries herself with the same trained posture as her brother but lets it relax more readily in private. Her expressions tend toward warmth rather than Henry's more controlled neutrality.
