The outer planets confederation — Jupiter, Saturn, and their moons. Home to austere Rim Golds who rejected Core decadence and built a martial society at the edge of the system.
The Rim is the Society's other half — the one that looked at Luna's excesses and said no. Generations ago, Gold families migrated outward to the moons of Jupiter and Saturn, bringing the Color hierarchy but leaving behind what they saw as Core corruption. Rim Golds do not keep Pinks. They train harder, live sparer, and hold grudges longer. Their fleet is built for endurance rather than spectacle, their warriors shaped by the patient discipline of defending enormous territories with limited resources. For decades the Rim maintained an uneasy independence — technically part of the Society but functionally autonomous under the Raa family's leadership. When the Core tore itself apart in civil war, the Rim watched and waited. They have ships enough to tip the balance in any direction. The question was never whether the Rim would intervene, but when, and for whom, and at what price.
A vast expanse of moons, stations, and orbital habitats scattered across the outer solar system. Giant planets dominate the sky from every settlement. The architecture is functional and fortress-like — none of the Core's ornamental excess. Ships are built for long patrols across the enormous distances between worlds.
