Kavax au Telemanus

Character from Red Rising by Pierce Brown

A Gold mountain with a poet's heart — massive, booming, fiercely loyal patriarch of House Telemanus. Fights like a bear, laughs like thunder, loves like a father should.

Kavax au Telemanus is proof that Gold genetics can produce goodness alongside size. The patriarch of House Telemanus — famous for breeding the largest Golds in the system — Kavax is a wall of muscle with a heart to match. He bellows when he laughs, weeps openly when moved, and hugs people with force that cracks ribs. In battle he is a nightmare, wading through enemies with the casual devastation of a natural disaster. But his true strength is loyalty — once given, never revoked. He supported the Rising early and loudly, risking everything because he believed it was right. He loves his children fiercely, considers Darrow family, and would die smiling if it meant protecting them.

Appearance

Enormous even by Gold standards — a walking fortification of muscle and cheer. Broad-faced with a bristling beard and laughing eyes that can turn to war-fury in a heartbeat. Dresses practically for a man of his station, preferring function over Gold finery.

Also known as: Kavax, Telemanus
