Silent Stone is the Red Queen series' great equalizer — a material that nullifies Silver and Newblood abilities within its proximity. Corros Prison is lined with it. Maven used it to imprison Mare during King's Cage, shackling her with Silent Stone manacles that reduced the Lightning Girl to a powerless propaganda tool. For the caste system, Silent Stone is revealing: if Silver superiority is based on abilities, and abilities can be stripped by a rock, then Silver superiority is as fragile as the material is common. The stone doesn't make Reds equal — it makes Silvers ordinary.
