Tall Castle is House Ancrath's seat of power and Jorg's birthplace. It is where he was a prince, where his mother lived before she was killed, where his father married Katherine, and where Jorg returned to claim his father's throne. The castle represents everything Jorg was supposed to be — a prince in a castle, civilized and controlled — and everything he rejected by taking to the road. He takes it eventually. Not through inheritance but through conquest. The castle that was his birthright became his prize, and the distinction tells you everything about who Jorg is.
A medieval fortress built tall rather than wide — the name is descriptive. Stone walls, towers, and the accumulated architecture of a kingdom that has been rebuilding on nuclear ruins for a thousand years without knowing what lies beneath. It dominates its landscape through elevation rather than breadth.
