Character from Prince of Thorns by Mark Lawrence
Seven feet of muscle, violence, and extremely limited impulse control — the Brothers' blunt instrument, who follows Jorg because Jorg is the only person he's ever been afraid of.
Rike is not complicated. He likes fighting, eating, drinking, and the things that come after pillaging. He is brutal, stupid in the ways that matter for strategy, and devastatingly effective in the ways that matter for killing. He follows Jorg because Jorg is the first person to make him feel something like fear, and for Rike, fear is the closest thing to respect. He is not sympathetic. The series does not attempt to make him sympathetic. He is a weapon that Jorg points at things. The fact that Jorg, at fourteen, can command this mountain of violence says more about Jorg than it does about Rike. He is also, occasionally, capable of a kind of dog-like loyalty that is almost touching if you forget what he does with his free time.
Enormous — nearly seven feet tall and built like something designed to break doors. Massive hands, sloping brow, and the permanent expression of someone calculating whether violence is appropriate (the answer is always yes). He carries a mace or axe and looks like he was born holding one.
