Character from Prince of Thorns by Mark Lawrence
A leucrota — a mutant giant born from Builder radiation, brilliant behind a monstrous face, and the most intelligent member of Jorg's warband after Jorg himself.
Gorgoth is a product of the Builders' legacy — radiation from the nuclear war mutated populations into new species, and the leucrota are among them. They are feared and hunted by humans. Gorgoth joined Jorg's Brothers because Jorg was the first human to see him as a person rather than a monster. He is genuinely intelligent — capable of complex reasoning, engineering knowledge, and a philosophical depth that most of the Brothers lack entirely. He understands Builder technology instinctively, drawn to it the way someone might be drawn to the artifacts of their ancestors. His loyalty to Jorg is based on the simple fact that Jorg treated him as an equal when no one else would. The irony is sharp: the most monstrous-looking member of the band is the most thoughtful, while the most human-looking ones are the most savage.
Massive and inhuman — a leucrota, one of the mutant species created by Builder-era radiation. His body is huge, misshapen, and terrifying to anyone who encounters him. Behind the monstrous exterior is an intellect that surprises everyone who bothers to look for it. He is the Brothers' most physically imposing member and their least likely scholar.
