The Gaze is a direct expression of Jake's Primal Hunter bloodline — it projects concentrated killing intent through eye contact. It's not magic in the conventional sense; it's the System-enhanced equivalent of a lion staring down a gazelle. The gazelle doesn't need to understand what's happening. Its body knows. Jake gained this skill early in the Tutorial, and it permanently changed his eyes from brown to yellow-orange. It's one of the clearest signals that Jake's humanity is being gradually reshaped by his bloodline — each advancement pushes him further from the depressed office worker he used to be and closer to something that the System hasn't quite categorized.
When activated, Jake's already unsettling yellow-orange eyes intensify to an incandescent glow. The effect on targets is visceral — a primal recognition of being prey in the presence of an apex predator. Weaker beings freeze. Stronger beings feel the pressure and recognize the challenge.
