Character from The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang
The Cike's shapeshifter — a shaman who can alter his appearance at will, used for infiltration and espionage, whose ability to become anyone makes people wonder who he actually is.
Unegen's shamanic gift is shapeshifting — he can alter his physical appearance to impersonate others, making him invaluable for espionage, assassination, and infiltration. The psychological cost is suggested rather than explored deeply: a person who can be anyone may eventually lose track of who they are underneath. In the Cike, he handles the missions that require a face rather than a fist — getting into places, extracting information, creating confusion behind enemy lines.
Difficult to describe precisely because his appearance changes. In his default form: average build, unremarkable features — the kind of face you'd forget, which is the point. He can shift his physical appearance to mimic others, making him the Cike's primary infiltration specialist.
