Character from The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang
A shaman driven mad by his connection to the wind god — sealed in the Chuluu Korikh because his power couldn't be controlled, and released by Rin as a weapon of last resort.
Feylen was a powerful shaman sealed in the Chuluu Korikh — the stone prison for shamans too dangerous to kill and too powerful to leave free. Rin releases him during the war as a desperate gambit, gaining a powerful but unstable ally. His time in the stone prison has eroded his sanity, making him dangerous in unpredictable ways — he's effective in combat but his loyalty and restraint are questionable. He represents what happens to shamans the Empire can't control: imprisonment, erasure, madness. His existence is both a warning about Rin's potential future and evidence of the system Daji built to contain shamanic power.
Gaunt and wild-eyed with the look of someone who has spent years imprisoned in stone. Unkempt, feral, his body thin from confinement but crackling with shamanic energy. When he channels his wind god, the air around him becomes visibly agitated — dust spirals, clothes whip, and the atmospheric pressure shifts dangerously.
