A klutzy, enthusiastic rival from Nuvema Town whose father refuses to let her be a trainer — which she ignores by being one anyway.
Bianca's whole arc is the push-pull with her father, who wants her home, running the family bakery, and not out in the wild getting Pignite burns on her forearms. She disobeys him quietly and completely. Her battles are chaotic — Pignite charges off, Shelmet wanders, Minccino won't stop cleaning — but she wins more than the slapstick framing suggests. She's the first person to successfully stop Ash's Oshawott mid-fight to ask for trade advice. Her friendship with Iris is genuine and surprisingly adult; they commiserate about being underestimated. Her energy is exhausting to Cilan, who secretly appreciates it. Under pressure she becomes focused, not panicked — in the Meloetta arc she escorts wounded Pokémon back to the Pokémon Center without being asked.
A short, round-cheeked blonde girl in a green-and-white dress, an oversized green beret with a white bow, orange leggings, brown boots. Bright green eyes, perpetually a little wide with apology. Always bumping into Ash. Always dropping her Poké Balls. Always picking them back up.
