A port city in western Sinnoh split by a canal — home of Byron's Steel-type Gym, a major library, and the ferry to the legendary Iron Island.
Canalave runs the region's shipping. The Canalave Library holds Sinnoh's most complete record of the Creation Trio mythology outside Celestic's ruins. Byron is the Gym Leader and also one of the library's largest patrons. Team Galactic raids the library early in the arc searching for the location of the three lakes' sacred chambers.
Two halves of the city connected by a drawbridge over a deep canal. Industrial docks, shipping cranes, stone warehouses on the north bank; quieter residential streets and the Canalave Library on the south. Byron's Gym sits over the canal itself.
