The Lake Guardians — the pixie trio of Knowledge (Uxie), Emotion (Mesprit), and Willpower (Azelf), whose essences Cyrus forged into the Red Chain to bind Dialga and Palkia.
The Lake Guardians sleep at the bottom of Lake Acuity (Uxie), Lake Verity (Mesprit), and Lake Valor (Azelf). They are aspects of the human soul made flesh. Team Galactic bombs the lakes, captures all three, and extracts their essence into the Red Chain. After Spear Pillar, they return to their lakes. Mesprit briefly bonds with Dawn during the crisis.
Three small bipedal pixie-like Legendary Pokémon with two tails each and gemstones set into their foreheads. Uxie: yellow, eyes always closed (anyone who meets its gaze is struck blind). Mesprit: pink. Azelf: blue. Float rather than walk. Glow faintly.
