The mysterious trainer who defeats Ash in the Sinnoh League semifinals — a silent, uncontested challenger with a Darkrai and a Latios, who makes Ash's Top 4 finish the tallest wall yet.

Nobody knows where Tobias came from. He has sleepwalked through the entire Sinnoh League — winning every match with a single Pokémon, his Darkrai, which uses Dark Void to put the opponent's entire team to sleep and Dream Eater to finish them. Against Ash in the semifinals, Ash becomes the only trainer to KO the Darkrai. Tobias responds by sending out his second Pokémon — a Latios. Ash's remaining team falls. Tobias wins the Sinnoh League. He vanishes afterward.

Appearance

Tall, gaunt, long dark hair, pale skin. Dark trenchcoat, high collar, minimalist design. Does not smile. Does not speak during matches. Looks like he walked in from a different anime.
