The eight regional Gym Leaders of Sinnoh — Roark, Gardenia, Maylene, Crasher Wake, Fantina, Byron, Candice, and Volkner — each guarding a badge Ash must collect to qualify for the Sinnoh League.

The Sinnoh Gym Leaders are the most ideologically varied group in any region — a mine engineer, a wrestler, a dance-hall impresario, a schoolteacher, a retired Coordinator. They coordinate loosely on cross-region issues (Team Galactic) but run their Gyms with near-total autonomy. Collectively, they are the first test of any trainer's readiness for the Sinnoh League.

Appearance

Heterogeneous. Ranges from Candice's schoolgirl scarf to Crasher Wake's luchador mask to Volkner's sullen jacket. Each runs a themed Gym with terrain specific to their type. All wield the Pokémon League's official Gym Leader insignia on their battles.
