Character from pokemon-sinnoh by
Dawn's starter Pokémon — a Penguin Pokémon with a wounded ego the size of Sinnoh, who once refused a Prism Scale mid-evolution because he was not willing to give up being the star.
Piplup is vain, dramatic, and entirely in love with Dawn. He is convinced he is the cutest, strongest, cleverest Pokémon in any room and reacts to evidence otherwise with indignant chest-puffing and, occasionally, the waterworks. When a Prism Scale begins evolving him into Prinplup, he shakes it off — he refuses to outgrow Dawn's shoulder, refuses to outgrow the Appeal rounds where he's small enough to be charming. Dawn lets him stay Piplup. Neither of them says out loud that it's a pact. He does not get along with Ash's Buizel (too cool) or with Togekiss (too elegant). He does get along with Pikachu, cautiously. He cries when anyone yells at Dawn. He headbutts Team Rocket at a rate of roughly twice per episode.
A blue-and-white penguin about a foot and a half tall, with a proud puffed chest, short flippers, small yellow beak, and a cape-like white underbelly. Head crest like a blue crown. Walks with exaggerated dignity. Cries immediately if he thinks he's been upstaged by another Pokémon.
