Hewn from rock — an eastern city carved into steep mountains, home of Team Galactic's main headquarters, Maylene's fighting gym, and a department store that sells everything you've needed since Oreburgh.
Veilstone has a slogan — 'Hewn from Rock' — that doubles as a personality description. This is not a welcoming city. It doesn't try to be. The rock walls create a cold atmosphere that isolation amplifies: limited contact with other cities, a closed-off feel that makes what's here feel more intensely here. The Galactic Veilstone Building is the center of Team Galactic's regional operations. The captured lake guardians are briefly held here before being moved. The warehouse behind the building, accessible via a key obtained from the main building, is where the player recovers the Galactic Key. The four meteorites on the east side change Deoxys between forms. This is a small, quiet thing in a city otherwise dominated by crime organization infrastructure.
Rocky mountain walls press in from every side, giving the city a fortress quality. The stone is grey and cold. The Galactic Veilstone Building is the tallest structure and unmistakably new against the ancient rock. Four meteorites sit on the eastern edge. The game corner is in the south, near the gym.
