Sinnoh's southern port and gateway to the Pokémon League — a city of elevated solar panels, a lighthouse, and the uneasy history of being Volkner's hometown and Cyrus's birthplace.
Sunyshore is innovative by necessity: limited flat land forced the city to build upward, and the solar panels that now power everything were the practical solution to spatial constraints. The city's most modern feature is an engineering workaround. Vista Lighthouse looks out to sea and toward the Pokémon League — Sunyshore is the last city before the end. After Volkner gives you the Beacon Badge, the League is accessible. This is the threshold between the journey and the destination. Cyrus grew up here. So did Volkner. The game does not connect them explicitly, but both men felt the same thing — emptiness, purposelessness, the sense that the world was insufficient — and made opposite choices about what to do with it. Volkner rebuilt his gym and waited. Cyrus decided the world needed to be destroyed.
Built on a narrow spit of land between sea and mountains. Elevated boardwalks carrying solar panels stretch above the main streets, converting sunlight to power. The Vista Lighthouse stands at the southeast corner, visible from the ocean approach. Below the elevated roads: markets, houses, the sense of a city that adapted to its geography rather than reshaping it.
