The Great Marsh — a safari zone accessible through the north gate — is the city's largest attraction and an ongoing conservation project. Crasher Wake is the dominant personality here. He uses his Pokémon to Defog the city's weather when the marsh air gets too thick, which is a civic service delivered by a professional wrestler in a mask. This is very Pastoria. Team Galactic's Lake Valor operation happens nearby — the drained lake is visible from the east road. The contrast between Pastoria's comfortable wetland culture and the drained lake bed that was the Being of Willpower's home is one of the game's quieter environmental statements.
Built on the edge of marshland, with the Great Marsh stretching out beyond the northern boundary. Wide muddy paths, waterway crossings, and the general humidity of a city that has decided the swamp is a feature rather than an obstacle. Crasher Wake's gym is visible from the main street.
