Canalave is the city that smells like the ocean and old books simultaneously. The only library in Sinnoh is here — its mythology texts become essential reading once Team Galactic's plot starts coming into focus. The books about the creation trio, the Distortion World, the nature of the lake guardians: they're all available, in Canalave, if you read them before they're relevant. The ferry here connects to Iron Island (where Riley trains), Fullmoon Island (where Cresselia lives), and Newmoon Island (where Darkrai can be found with the proper event). Sailor Eldritch runs the ferry from his house near the docks; his son gets mysteriously ill in a post-game quest that requires Cresselia's intervention. Byron's gym is the sixth — near the top of the circuit, a Steel-type challenge of platforms and elevators that rewards patience over momentum.
