Location from Pokémon Platinum by Game Freak / Nintendo
Platinum's post-game challenge facility — five battle facilities in the Battle Zone, each with unique mechanics and a Frontier Brain to defeat, accessible by ferry from Snowpoint City after the Hall of Fame.
The Battle Frontier is where Platinum diverges most meaningfully from Diamond and Pearl in the post-game. Five facilities replace the single Battle Tower: the Battle Factory, Battle Arena, Battle Castle, Battle Arcade, and Battle Tower. Each one applies different rules that force trainers to think differently about strategy. Palmer — Barry's largely absent father — is the Tower Tycoon, the Frontier Brain who guards the Battle Tower. Encountering him here is one of the game's quietly significant moments: a very good trainer who has spent Barry's entire childhood at this facility, and who is exactly as good as that implies. Battle Points earned through wins exchange for items not available elsewhere. The Frontier is not necessary to complete the game but represents the competitive ceiling: the point at which you've beaten Cynthia and the only challenge left is an endlessly repeating test of depth.
A purpose-built facility in the Battle Zone north of the Fight Area — clean, modern, clearly designed for serious competition rather than tourism. Five distinct facilities with different architectural aesthetics that hint at their battle mechanics. Palmer's Battle Tower is the most prominent.
