The Sinnoh Elite Four's fourth and final member — a Psychic-type specialist, avid reader, and polite intellectual who builds his battle strategy on patient observation before striking.
Lucian is the last obstacle before Cynthia. He is also, by temperament, the most academic of the Elite Four — an avid reader who has thought seriously about battle as a discipline. He studies opponents before counterattacking; defense and patience are his preferred methodology. He's polite and genuinely likes helping trainers understand what they did wrong. He will, if asked, tell you exactly what he was planning. This is confidence, not carelessness. His Alakazam is his ace — a Pokémon that requires no introduction. An old man on Route 228 may be his grandfather, who mentions 'a grandson who enjoys reading,' which is the most Lucian description possible. His team in the original games is pure Psychic-type; in later appearances, he diversifies slightly.
A tall man with purple-blue hair and matching eyes, wearing maroon robes that give him a scholarly look. Carries himself with the quiet dignity of someone whose default state is reading. His expression is attentive and slightly distant — present in the room but also thinking about something else.
